Punnami Restaurant in Idstein

Ordered last night and still a full stomach this morning. We were extremely satisfied. The food was ready on time and, unlike other restaurants, the food was still really hot at home! It also tasted very good, there was a very good selection of dips with the dishes that were ordered, only the curry could have been a little hotter, but they could help quickly (but I also like to eat spicy). As already indicated, the portions were very good and Pei's performance was simply great. If Frankfurt were the best Indian, it would be Idstein's best Indian. When you move away from somewhere you leave a lot behind, including beloved catering establishments. In our case a fantastic Indian in Frankfurt, for whom we thought we would not find a replacement here anyway. Thought wrong. Punami cooks exceptionally well and real and is not afraid to bring the lamb Vindaloo authentically hot on the plate. Chapeau!

Very, very friendly courteous service and owner or cook. All dishes were very tasty and great Indian cuisine. There was always inquiries in between and the starters are also highly recommended. Vegetarian dishes are also available. You can see the menu online and make a reservation.

Excellent food and friendly service. Only the waiting time between starter and main course was far too long - you shouldn't have to wait more than 1 hour Otherwise everything was very good

The chai was incredibly bitter, the food that came after an hour (the starter didn't even come with one of the 3 people at the table) was mediocre and lukewarm. Service was really nice.

Yesterday i had a lovely dinner for 3 people at this restaurant. We were enticed for having an indian meal after watching The Hunded Foot Journey and boy, we were in for a treat! On a slightly low side, the service was a bit ehm confused and slow although it was quite busy and by no means unfixable and please, do not be put off by this because the food is really exquisite and totally worth it, everything was top class. We shared a starter of garlic bread which was freshly cooked and in fact took a while to prepare, then 3 main dishes, a chicken mango, chicken butter and the classic chicken tikka masala (all served with perfectly cooked basmati rice). Everything was excellent, portions had a perfect size served in small copper pots which maintained the heat throughout. They also adjusted the spiciness to our desired level, flavours were so well mixed this is probably one of the best indian restaurants i have ever had in my life and you could tell the chef was indian by the way every spice and ingredient was blended together to bring together an harmony of flavours you just cannot stop eating. To top it off we asked for some liquor and they had in store mango liquor which was also delicious to conclude this very pleasant dinner. Highly recommended, this is another gem in the lovely tiny centre of Idstein which has several restaurants all worth a try.

Indian restaurant with delicious dishes. The prices are normal for an Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, there is no bread as a mandatory appetizer. The ambience could be a bit "Indian".

Very good Indian cuisine! Something for everyone - including vegans! Friendly service! Not cheap, prices reasonable for the service! I can highly recommend this place! We will be back for sure!
